title="Pamber Parish Council in Hampshire">

We are progressing well with the organising of the events...Yes there will now be two. the main event will still be the dedication of a bench in 11th November at the Beacon in Pamber Heath.
  • The Rev. Richard Harlow will officiate at the service
  • The Beacon will be lite at  7:00 pm
  • There will be a Bugler to play the last post.
  • A selection of drinks will be available free of charge, including a special beer from the Little London Brewery
  • We hope the scouts will provide a hog roast with proceeds going to their funds
  • We hope other local groups will join in the service
  • Local Folk singer
  • We have commissioned a laser cut silhouette of the War Horse statue that was unveiled in Ascot this Month. This is a memorial to the horses, donkeys and mules which were used in the war to move ordinance and supplies at the front. This commission has the full backing of the memorial fund organisers and may well be the second memorial dedicated to commemorate the loss of life and "will pay tribute to the nobility, courage, unyielding loyalty and immeasurable contribution these animals played in giving us the freedom of democracy we all enjoy today."
  • The silhouette will be placed at the Plough PH and dedicated by The Rev John Lenton on 23rd August.
  • The 23rd August will become the Purple Poppy Day with funds raised going to the two chosen charities of the Memorial fund.                            The Household Cavalry Foundation and The Mane Chance Sanctuary
  • Further details to follow.
