Statement by Pamber Parish Council

At the Parish Council meeting on 12th March the Council were made aware of allegations of unnecessary incidents of intimidation and harrassment in respect of a planning application. The Parish Council views its responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of its parishioners seriously. In respect of any matter whether it be planning, highways or housing, freedom to express an opinion is encouraged. However, the right to disagree with a policy, decision or application brings with it the responsibility to allow others to express their opinion without fear of reprisal, intimidation or harrassment.

At the meeting the Parish Council unanimously passed a motion condeming any form of intimidation towards its parishioners and hope that in the future we can respect everyone's right to pursue their way of life without fear of becoming a target for gossip, slander or bullying.

We are very fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the country with a strong sense of community. Let's all strive to keep it that way.
