I would like to draw your attention to some recent issues that we have had in the area.  We have received a number of reports over the last few weeks about residents, mainly elderly, receiving a phone call from someone reporting to be from either the Metropolitan Police investigation unit or a bank.

   Beware Bogus Traders    9 February, 2016

This is a message sent via Hampshire Alert. This information has been sent on behalf of Action Fraud (National Fraud Intelligence Bureau) particularly aimed at flood victims but useful advice for everybody.

The NFIB would like to make flood victims aware of the possible threat that Rogue Traders and Bogus Trades People pose to them. Buying on your doorstep can be convenient. However, a salesman who uses clever tactics can pressurise you into buying something you actually don’t want or something that’s poor value for money.
