LITTLE LONDON REFURBISHED VILLAGE SIGN

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Event – Little London, Tadley - 11th July 2022

To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Pamber Parish Council has had the Little London Village sign renovated to its former glory.

22 years ago, for the Millennium, the Parish Council launched a competition for pupils from the local primary schools to design something that represented the village of Little London. The winning design was then commissioned as a shield and installed next to the village hall for the Millennium Celebrations.

The winning design was created by Gemma Love, then a pupil of the Priory. Her design incorporated Pamber Forest, the stream and pond within it and sheep grazing in the fields close to her home, all memories of things she enjoyed about the village.

Time had seen the shield loose its lustre, so the Parish Council decided to renovate the shield for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Local Artist Patsie O’Callaghan undertook the task, which was unveiled by Cllr Rhydian Vaughan MBE, a resident of Little London. Rhydian gave a short address to give thanks to both Patsie for her excellent work in refurbishment and Gemma for the original design, hoping the shield would proudly announce the village to visitors for a further 20 years or more. The Parish Council in turn would like to thank Cllr Vaughan for generously arranging for HCC for paying for the project through his Councillor’s grant.

Attached pictures show Gemma Love, Patsie O'Callaghan and Cllr Rhydian Vaughan MBE beneath the shield.

Pamber Heath Memorial Hall Extension Project

The Pamber Heath Memorial Hall provides a much loved and used amenity in the local community.

We really need your help to raise funds The Hall is oversubscribed and older elements of the building need attention, therefore we want to upgrade existing facilities, including for the disabled, and create additional facilities that can be used across the age spectrum so we can continue to meet the growing demand for this lovely space!

The Hall is run as a not for profit charity so please help us fund this project.Fund Raising Opportunities include:       The Good Exchange

    Basingstoke Community Lottery - PHMH
